First International Manta Symposium

The first International Manta Symposium was held in conjunction with the annual AES meeting in Montreal, Canada last July. This groundbreaking conference was attended by scientists and other manta researchers from as far away as Africa, Europe, Brazil and the Maldives.

Two days of papers were presented to an audence numbering more than fifty scientists and students. This was the first time that manta scientists were in the same room to discuss the science, their work and possible conservation efforts.
